BALTIMORE, Md. -- Maryland's Nate Watkins and Georgetown's Steve Dusseau both scored four goals and added one assist and Maryland's Brian Carroll won 23-of-37 faceoffs to lead the South to a 23-13 victory over the North in the 61st annual USILA North-South Classic at Johns Hopkins' Homewood Field Saturday afternoon. The South led 8-5 at the end of the first quarter and the North got no closer than four after the South extended the lead to 10-5 early in the second quarter.

After the North took an early 3-1 lead on goals by Stony Brook's Kevin Pall, New York Tech's Peter Muller and Bentley's Scott Yavarow, the South took control of the game with a 9-2 run over a 14-minute span bridging the first and second quarters. Towson's Brad Reppert scored twice during the spree, which also included a goal and two assists from Virginia's Conor Gill and one goal from Dusseau.
Dusseau and Watkins both scored two goals and added one assist in the second half, which saw the South outscore the North, 10-4. The North went nearly 14 minutes between goals at one point in the second half and over 12 minutes between goals during another stretch of the second half. Georgetown's Scott Schroeder registered nine second-half saves for the South.

Carroll, who took 37 of the 38 faceoffs in the game for the South, won five of the first six faceoffs of the game and was 13-for-17 at one point. In addition to Dusseau, Watkins and Carroll, the South got three goals and one assist from Reppert, one goal and four assists from Gill, two goals and one assist from Towson's Josh Tankersley and two goals from Penn State's Will Driscoll.
C.W. Post's Drew Cavidias, who tallied a pair of goals, led the North. Syracuse attackman Josh Coffman added one goal and two assists, while Yavarow and Quinnipiac's Joe Baglio each tallied one goal and one assist.
