After leading 2-1 after the first quarter, the Cardinals would outscore the Hornets, 5-1, in the second quarter using three of the six man-up tallies including Dan Lavoie's man-down goal. The senior added an assist and scooped up five ground balls while winning 17-of-20 face-offs.

Senior Jimmy Nalls (3 goals, assist) and sophomore Tom Alexander (4 assists) recorded four points on the day for the Cardinals (6-6).

James Hernandez scored twice for Shenandoah (2-7).

Sophomore Andrew Couden and freshman Kyle Blodgett combined to make seven saves.

The Cardinals return to action this weekend as Catholic travels to New England to take on Daniel Webster (N.H.) on Friday and Mt. Ida (MA) on Saturday. Shenandoah travels to Cabrini Saturday for a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference contest.
