Fenton, Zash Lead Duke Past Loyola
Matt Zash scored three goals and Aaron Fenton registered 18 saves as the eighth-ranked Duke Blue Devils defeated 12th-ranked Loyola, 11-3, in men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore, Md.
The Blue Devils improve to 3-1 on the year while the Greyhounds fall to 1-2. Duke claimed a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game on goals by Dan Flannery and Zash. After a Loyola tally, the Blue Devils pushed the lead to 4-1 when Lee Skandalaris and Zash each found the back of the net.

Loyola's Andrew Spack then pulled the Greyhounds to within 4-2 at the 11:52 mark of the second quarter, but Duke answered with goals from Ben Fenton and Chris Haunss for a 6-2 lead. Loyola scored the final goal of the first half for a 6-3 Duke advantage at intermission.
The Blue Devils then dominated the second half, outscoring the Greyhounds 5-0. Matt Danowski and Ryan Marshall each scored twice in the run while Zash carded his third goal of the game.
In making the first start of his career, Aaron Fenton racked up 18 saves, seven of which came in the second quarter. He spearheaded a Duke defense that shut out Loyola over the final 32:59 of the game and killed three Greyhound man-up opportunities.
