VANCOUVER EDGES BUFFALO IN OVERTIME, 16-15

The Vancouver Ravens defeated the Buffalo Bandits, 16-15, in a thrilling overtime win at General Motors Place. Chris Gill, who was held scoreless for the entirety of regulation play, scored the game-winner nearly three minutes into overtime.
Gill scored on a rebound of a Dan Stroup shot. The ball was left sitting in the crease, where Gill reached in, picked up the loose ball and deposted it into the empty net with Bandit netminder Steve Dietrich laying prone in the crease.
Vancouver had a balanced scoring attack, with eleven of their fifteen runners recording goals. Curt Malawsky, who acquired earlier today in a trade with Rochester scored a pair, along with Dan Stroup, Scott Whitley, Matt Dwane and Randy Daly. Craig Conn, Bruce Alexander, Mark Miyashita, Andy Ogilvie, Peter Morgan and Chris Gill each added one goal.
John Tavares led Buffalo with a hat-trick, while Pat McCready, Mark Steenhuis and Jason Crosbie each scored a pair for the Bandits.
Vancouver (1-2) hosts the Colorado Mammoth on Sunday in the second game of their Super Doubleheader Weekend, while the Bandits travel to Southern California to take on the Anaheim Storm at the Arrowhead Pond.
