WHO MADE THE TEAM?

These are some of the best highlights we've ever shot. The quality of lacrosse at the 2005 tryouts for this U.S. team was the best we've ever seen. There is no way one could pick a team from all of this great talent without leaving out totally deserving people.

US Lacrosse Men's Director Jody Martin

With the continuing maturity of the outdoor and indoor pro leagues and the inclusion of those pros on this year's US team, the level of play and effort was almost surreal. The MLL and NLL need to get just 10% of what these games had. Picture an All-Star game 120 players deep that includes the very best players from across the US laxscape and lasts 24 hours with a few breaks to eat and sleep where every single man on the field wanted to play flawlessly for honor and it meant more to them than anything they could remember or foresee. In our estimataion, this is as close as non-natives can ever get to playing the real "Creator's Game".

E-Lacrosse's Casey Powell made the team

Keep all of these things in mind when a favorite player doesn't make the team and you want to complain. It lessens the achievement of all these guys to complain. Also, we shot only one quarter of the tryout sessions, so you could never make a fair assessment based only on our footage. Representing the United States by making this team is a great accomplishment, BUT the greatest lacrosse in this World games cycle has been played. There's plenty more great lax to come as we get into exhibitions and then the main event next Summer in Ontario, but other than the fanfare, the prize attributed to winning, and the great international community aspects inherent to the event, its all crescendo from here on.

USA Coach John Desko was blown away by the talent

This U.S. Team will not lose a single game outside the US. The only team(s) that could possibly beat them dissipated yesterday as the last tryout scrimmage ended, old and new friends and rivals said their goodbyes and headed up the hill to pack, go home and await the 5:00 announcement of the 2005 US Lacrosse Team. Only the 120 men at this tryout last week can say they were included in the greatest display of talent the lacrosse world ever saw. You'll see what we mean. Just enjoy!
