Golden Goal Youth Lacrosse Park Hosts Inaugural "High School Girls Showcase" – June 26 - 29
Players will receive instruction from Canadian National Team coaches and players
Fort Ann, NY -- April 29, 2008 -- Golden Goal Youth Lacrosse Park, located minutes outside Lake George, NY, will host 30 of the nations top high school girls lacrosse programs at its inaugural "High School Girls Showcase" on June 26 through the 29th. The event will give high school girls the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of coaches from top Division I, II and III programs such as the University of Albany, Harvard University, Robert Morris University and receive instruction from Canadian National Team coaches and players.
"We could not be happier to have the Canadian National Team be part of our event," said Dale Weingarten, Golden Goal Lacrosse's Director. "There will be a day and half of skill stations and each team will play six full length games over the course of Saturday and Sunday. I can not think of another event that gives high school girls the opportunity to play in front of top tier college coaches and receive instruction from some of the top players in womens lacrosse."
Team Canada is coached by Harvard's Lisa Miller, George Mason's Amy Bokker and Hamilton's Patty Kloidt. "They bring a lot of experience, skill and credibility to our event," adds Weingarten.
Golden Goal Youth Lacrosse Park features four turf fields and four grass fields in an Olympic style village with housing for 36 plus teams. "There are many tournaments and camps in girls lacrosse, but, our event is unique in that it gives the coaches the opportunity to get up close with the players during practices, skills station training and ultimately games."
"We are capping the event to 30 teams so everyone will get the attention they deserve" notes Weingarten.
