SIX TRIBES GOING TO AMSTERDAM
Six Tribes Apparel, the lacrosse equivalent of Quiksilver and Billabong, has joined as a sponsor of the Amsterdam Lacrosse Tournament taking place from August 20 to 23, 2003.
Six Tribes joins deBeer, Gait Helmets and the Hard Rock Cafe as event sponsors.
Six Tribes support of this event symbolizes it ongoing support of the premier lacrosse tournaments around the world. In the past year Six Tribes has sponsored the 2002 Hawaii Invitational, The 2002 Las Vegas Viva Lax Vegas Tournament, The 2002 Hartford Tournament, The 2002 Great Chicago Shootout and the 2002 Cape Cod Classic with plans for the 2003 Vail Shootout, The 2003 Mardi Gras Tourney and the 2003 Ocean City Classic.
Founded by Boston Cannon players Gerry Byrne and Bill Edell, Six Tribes has established a strong retail presence at over 50 lacrosse retailers around the world as well as over 12 surf and skate shops from Hawaii to Long Island. Gerry Byrne, Director of Propaganda sees the Amsterdam Tourney as a critical event in establishing Six Tribes as the premier global lacrosse apparel brand. "Amsterdam is the perfect setting for a lacrosse tournament: its international flavor, cultural and historic landmarks and legendary nightlife and general debauchery will mesh well with our mission of creating fun and provocative apparel for today's player".
Six Tribes will be sponsoring two awards as part of its agreement with the tournament. The Six Tribes MVP will be given to the player who best exemplifies excellence on the field by his play. The Six Tribes MHP (Most Hedonistic Player) will be bestowed to the tournament attendee who by virtue of his performance in the clubs, in the bars and in the red light district singlehandedly reaches the basest level of human endeavors through his investigation of all that Amsterdam has to offer.
In addition, tournament directors will receive a VIP package of Six Tribes event apparel and each team will receive 36 custom Six Tribes/Amsterdam Lacrosse Condoms festooned with both logos and the tagline "Amster, Damn that Stings"
