Eagles win second straight at home behind Morgan's five-goal performane
Washington, D.C. - American was led by junior Brooke Morgan (Osborn
Park, Australia/Hollywood Senior) who scored five goals and junior Eleni
Vagelatos (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) who tallied four goals. The Eagles
captured their second consecutive home win of the season defeating
Davidson, 12-7, at Reeves Field today in front of 124 fans.
American (2-5, 0-4 CAA) led Davidson, 8-3, at the intermission.
Freshman Robin Steinberg (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) netted two goals and
freshman Ashley Flannigan (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) scored once for
AU. Davidson was led by Linda Rothemund and Lauren Kenchington who each
scored two goals. Davidson goalkeepers combined for six saves. Junior
goalkeeper Christina Jermyn (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) made 10
saves.
American will host Old Dominion tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Reeves Field.
