11/18 Starting a TeamI am trying to start a Lacrosse team in my own high school, Lake Catholic, in Mentor Ohio, and i would greatly appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to send me some basic information on the sport. Im basically just looking for some basic rules, cost of equipment and what not. I think Lacrosse would be a fun sport to have at any high school. We will get together once or twice a week all summer long to keep a stick in their hands. Most of these girls I help coach in rec league. I am involved in a community service program (Lazarus Leadership Fellows) this summer that requires each member to put together a 200 hour program for the summer. I am an 11th grader at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, in Montgomery County, MD, and my goal is to introduce the sport to the feeder middle school minority population so that our high school team will be more diverse in the future. The only problem is coming up with the equipment, and jerseys and other such things. Never Heard of it? Well maybie that's because we don't have a Lacrosse team. This brings me to the point of this posting. A group of friends and I have been trying for the past year to start a Lacrosse team. Our sports director has told us that he would consider it but it is very unlikely. The only possible way that we can form our own high school team is to find sponsors. WE NEED SPONSORS!
