LAXICON: Air Gait \ n. \ a move invented by lacrosse legend Gary Gait while in college at Syracuse University in the 1980's. Gait would literally dive from the rear of the crease upward and out over the goal side while slapping the ball into the goal one-handed. The move was made illegal very soon after. It was said that goalie safety was the reason. Many still think it was because only Gait could do it.
