PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Dartmouth College women's lacrosse exacted revenge on
Brown University in a big way Saturday afternoon, downing the Bears, 20-11, at
Stevenson Field.
The win improved the 12th-ranked Big Green to 3-1 (2-0 Ivy League),
while Brown fell to 1-5 (0-2 Ivy). For Dartmouth, the win avenged last season,
when the Bears were the only Ivy League team to defeat the Big Green and forced
Dartmouth to share the Ivy title with Princeton.
Jacque Weitzel had her third five-goal game of the season and also
dished off two assists, while Julia Morrill and Jen Greene both chipped in with
three goals and an assist. Melissa Frazier also netted a hat trick.
For Brown, Amanda Hatton scored four goals to lead the way. Phoebe Koch
had two goals and an assist.
In the goal, Sarah Carlson and Ellie Leahy split time for Dartmouth and
combined for nine saves. For Brown, Becky Tavani and Shea Obremski had nine
stops.
Dartmouth will host No. 11 Penn State Monday at noon on Chase Field.
