DENVER -- Freshman Mike Law scored seven goals and added three assists
as the University of Denver defeated Colorado College 18-6 on Saturday
afternoon. The Pioneers (3-3) blew the game open in the second quarter
by scoring six goals to the Tigers' one during a six-minute stretch of
that frame, expanding a 5-3 lead to 11-4. Colorado College (7-2) scored
a late second period goal to narrow the halftime margin to 11-5, but DU
picked up seven straight second-half goals to seal the game.
In addition to Law's ten-point game for the Pioneers, sophomore Geoff
Bieging scored four goals and picked up three assists, freshman Winslow
Lewis scored two goals and tallied three assists in his first collegiate
start and sophomore Kris Ferreri notched four assists. Eric Haas led
the Tigers with four goals.
Denver returns to action Thursday, April 8 when they host
Villanova.
