E-Lacrosse has learned from three confidential sources very close to the deal that Brine will announce this weekend the addition of Casey and Ryan Powell to the Milford, Massachusetts manufacturer's "Team Brine". The signing unites the Powell brothers, Casey and Ryan and younger brother Mikey. All three are former Syracuse University standouts who have led the Orange to NCAA Division I titles. Casey and Ryan are currently stars in the outdoor and indoor pro leagues playing together for the Rochester Rattlers and the Anaheim Storm while Mikey will debut this weekend in Seattle with the Baltimore Bayhawks.

"We are excited to have Casey and Ryan on board with Team Brine," said Mike Martin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We know that to make the best equipment available we need to have input from the players that are consistently setting the standard on the field. Their experience is invaluable and I look forward to seeing where they can help take Brine. We've gotten to know Mikey pretty well now. He's a unique force both on and off the field. He and Brine share a simple yet essential philosophy that will define the future of lacrosse: to see the game grow, you have to do some things that have never been seen before."

The Powell name is synonymous with lacrosse and much of that began when Casey brought his dominating skills to Syracuse University. Throughout Casey's storied career at Syracuse and with teams including the Rochester Knighthawks, Long Island Lizards, Rochester Rattlers, and the Anaheim Storm he has been a 2x NCAA Player of the Year (1997 and 1998), 2x Attackman of the Year (1997, 1998), Syracuse University all-time leading scorer, 4x MLL All-Star, 2x NLL All-Star and the MLL all-time leading scorer (2001, 2002). He has won an NCAA Championship, a World Championship, and an MLL Championship and has his designs set on rounding out his trophy case with an NLL Championship for Anaheim. Casey is a true champion for lacrosse and he has spent the last seven years traveling the world to promote lacrosse. He is Co-owner of Powell Brother's Lacrosse Camps, speaks at numerous lacrosse clinics and seminars and even works a bit for E-Lacrosse! Casey is also involved in a variety of charity and community events, most notably the "Powell Warriors" to help increase awareness in the fight against cancer.

"I am looking forward to working with Ryan and Mikey as well as the rest of Team Brine," said Casey Powell. "Brine is dedicated to raising the quality of equipment and technology needed to bring the game to whole new level. I know that by working together we can help develop solid product."

Ryan Powell is considered one of the best field lacrosse players in the world today, his enthusiasm and passion for the game is evident every time he steps onto the field. Ryan's career has taken him from being a standout on the highly competitive battlefield of Syracuse University to becoming a record setter in the MLL and NLL. Throughout Ryan's remarkable career has been recognized through accolades such as; 4x NCAA American, 2000 NCAA Player of the Year, 2000 Attackmen of the Year, miraculously tied his brother Casey's record as SU's leading scorer in his last game while winning the 2000 Division I Championship, 3x MLL All Star, All Time Leading Scorer for Rochester Rattlers, 2001 MLL League Leading Scorer and league MVP. It is not just Ryan's accomplishment's on the field that make him a true lacrosse professional, it is his consistent contributions back to the game that set him apart. Ryan is co-owner of the Powell Brother's Camps and spends much of his time traveling to various lacrosse clinics every year. In 2004 Ryan was assistant coach for Syracuse University's NCAA Division I Championship team and now is the head coach at Mullen High School in Colorado.

"I want to help Brine become the most dominant lacrosse company in the world by helping with the research and development of the equipment and apparel," said Ryan Powell. "Working with Brine gives me the opportunity to see kids play the great game of lacrosse and be more hands on with promoting and teaching the game. I look forward to promoting the game and seeing the popularity go to new heights."

"I am very excited to have family members at my work place. I think it will be very beneficial to have the three of us on the same team to assist in developing killer product as well as help grow lacrosse to new levels of popularity," said Mikey Powell.

Mikey Powell followed his brothers to Syracuse and broke his brothers' shared record as the university's all-time leading scorer, earned four straight NCAA Division 1 first team All-American honors and four straight Jack Turnbull Awards for division I attackman of the year, the first to do so since it began in 1946. He received the Lt. Raymond Enners Award as the Player of the Year in college lacrosse as a senior and was a Tewaaraton finalist each of his four years and won the award in 2002 and 2004.

Mikey finished his collegiate career winning an NCAA Championship in 2004 with Casey in the stands and Ryan on the sideline coaching. He led the powerful Orange in scoring each of his four years and tallied a career-high 89 points (47 goals, 42 assists) his senior year. He's SU's all-time leading scorer with 307 points and his four first-team All-American awards put him in an elite category with only three other players in lacrosse history. In the championship game against Navy in 2004, Powell had a goal and five assists and was named the NCAA Most Outstanding Player for the second time in his career.
